On psychedelics… my films, music, and artwork revolves around my own creative energy transformed into living, breathing things. This concept in itself — of bringing energy, a force, into a physical being, an entity — is a stretch, but what I intend to do is go even further beyond that and attempt to illustrate this process itself in my work. This involves exploration, experimentation, and an open mind. Above all, an open mind. Once one can accept the paradoxes and unfathomable phenomena outside their daily understanding of ‘reality’ one can come to accept anything and intake more knowledge than they ever had the capacity for.

Psychedelics do this to us naturally. Ingesting certain organic compounds, for the psychedelically-inclined, opens perception to new things and new ideas. Those not in-line with higher mental capacities, those who are rational, those who believe something either is or it isn’t, and those who are simple thinkers who believe they inhabit a planet in which the life upon it is the most important thing in the universe, have negative reactions to said psychedelics. They can’t accept mind-expansion, because it is too intense an experience.

And I don’t mean to condone drugs or anything like that. Psychedelics are not for everyone, just as studies have shown, based highly upon what I said above. Meditation is an activity that one could pursue, that involves a massive mind and body change without any forced psycho-activity. Those who meditate every day are smarter, stronger, and have a broader view of the world and what lays within and without it. Meditation opens the mind and one skilled in meditation can self-induce visions no plant or substance could ever induce. A master of meditation is at one with the universe, with everything, and understands the constant flow of energy from one macrocosm to the next.

This sort of open-field exploration will be a theme throughout my work, as my characters attempt to understand their worlds, just as I am. Those characters up-to-speed will be grounded, still human, but calm and worry free. They understand more than they can express and they are content with that, yet continue to feed their drive to transcend even more. Those characters with closed minds will be very unstable, mostly fighting, mostly frustrated. They feel stuck and should appear that way. Only through intense alignment with the first character, will the second character start his or her arc towards a new understanding and a new outlook on the world.

Oh yea and there’s gonna be a lot of crazy shit happening along the way!
